Answering your commonly

asked questions

How would I know if you are a suitable coach for me?

The purpose of the 1st free session is to help you answer this exact question. My coaching philosophy is always in service of the coachee. If I know of another coach or professional who is better aligned to your goals, I will refer you to them.

How is the first two free 1-1 sessions like?

The first 15 to 30 minutes of the first session will be spent designing our coaching relationship, understanding your goals, getting to know each other and answering any questions you may have on coaching. Thereafter, we proceed to discuss a topic or issue that you wish to explore further. This may continue into the 2nd session. Based on my experience, 2 sessions will be sufficient for you to decide if coaching adds value to your personal development.

Why only virtual for 1:1 coaching?

For now, all coaching sessions are held via zoom, unless alternative arrangement was mutually agreed. This is to keep operating costs low for Canopy to maintain reasonable coaching rates. Plans for a physical office are underway.

Why is each session only 60-minutes?

Setting a time boundary allows us to focus on the issues that most requires attention. Time extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What happens after I formally engage you as a coach?

After each session with you, I spend an additional 30 to 60 minutes reflecting, analysing and preparing for our next session. I may send you a curated selection of resources that may be relevant to you and/or a reminder on our agreed action plan. If you have a quick query in between sessions, you have the additional option of contacting me via email, WhatsApp or Telegram.

How long is a coaching relationship?

A coaching relationship typically lasts short to medium term. This is to be discussed at the 1st session when we design the coaching relationship.

What if I cannot afford your coaching rates?

I do reserve a portion of time for pro-bono coaching. Do get in touch.

What is the format for small group coaching?

Small group coaching is for 5 to 8 people, preferably held in-person. Recommended duration is 3 hours for a group up to 6 pax or 4 hours for a group up to 8 pax. Do contact me to find out more.
